A simple silhouette with slightly exaggerated, childlike proportions—like oversized kindergarten furniture.
The form is minimal, but the underlying angles are taken from traditional chairmaking, so it's very comfortable and ergonomic. The legs are an inch shorter at the back than at the front, and the angle between the seat and the backrest is 96 degrees.
They have a weight to them, especially in maple, but the radiused handhold makes them easy to move and carry.
I made two prototypes in Maple and Walnut, and am looking forward to refining the geometry and construction. I think this would look great in Cherry or Douglas Fir. Stay tuned!
